Tangents – Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences, and the Arts

Tangents is a publication of the Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences, and the Arts. This issue includes stories celebrating the school’s 30th anniversary with a feature about alumni returning as faculty; music instructor Dr. Nathan Groot; student achievements in national finance, science, performance, and writing competitions; the retirement of longtime faculty members Dr. Fred Buzen and Fred Zipkes; athe achievement of a longtime dream of opening a sake brewery in Arkansas by Class of 2000 alumnus Ben Bell; and Class of 2000 alumnus Matt Brown becoming the first alumni member to serve in the Arkansas General Assembly among other stories.

Summer 2022 TANGENTS

Tangents is a publication of the Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences, and the Arts. The Summer 2022 edition includes features on biology instructor Dr. Allyn Dodd, school nurse Monica Jaskovic, the naming of Selig Hall, the creation of a debate class and club, students participating in the Creative Writing Capstone, and an alumna helping lead the creation of an online hub for caregivers for special needs clients among others.

Summer 2021 TANGENTS

This issue includes stories on the 30th anniversary of the school’s anniversary, growth in the Residential Life staffing, investments in the visual arts program, two educators recognized for their teaching, an alumna’s song earning national recognition as part of a Dove Award-winning gospel album, commencement for the Class of 2021, and a cover story on the accomplishments of students earning the Arkansas Seal of Biliteracy as the school’s language curriculum grows.

The Summer 2020 Tangents features content about the Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences and the Arts, including features about students, alumni and faculty. The Summer 2020 issue includes stories on several extracurricular activities such as Ultimate Frisbee, Chess Club, athletics and Student Government Association initiatives.
