Your Role as a Residential Experience Coordinator:
- Mentor and support approximately 35 high-achieving high school students (grades 10–12).
- Create a safe, engaging, and inclusive residential environment that fosters leadership, life skills, and personal growth.
- Develop and implement a Student Development Curriculum focused on life skills, leadership, and engagement.
- Coordinate campus programming, student center operations, and student activities in collaboration with student life staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required (master’s in student affairs, higher education, counseling, social work, or related field preferred).
- At least one year of experience in residence life, student affairs, or youth mentorship.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and passion for working with students.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident with a valid driver’s license.

About the Role
As ASMSA’s Licensed Professional Counselor, you will play a vital role in supporting the social, emotional, and mental well-being of our students. Working closely with the Dean of Students, faculty, families, and student support teams, you will provide counseling services, crisis response, and wellness programming that helps students navigate the challenges of a rigorous academic environment.
This role combines clinical counseling, mentorship, and campus collaboration, ensuring students have the support they need to succeed academically and personally.
What You’ll Do
- Provide individual counseling services to students experiencing emotional or behavioral challenges
- Assess students’ mental health needs and develop individualized counseling plans
- Support students through crisis situations and coordinate referrals to external care providers when necessary
- Collaborate with faculty, administrators, and families to support student success
- Participate in the ASMSA Student Strategies Team to strengthen campus wellness initiatives
- Deliver wellness programming and psychoeducational outreach to students and staff
- Maintain clinical documentation and ensure confidentiality in accordance with legal and ethical standards
- Stay current in counseling practices through continuing education and professional development

- Licensed Clinical Social Worker
- Senior Psychological Examiner
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with high school or college-age students
- Familiarity with gifted or academically advanced student populations
- Experience providing crisis intervention, counseling, or student wellness programming in an educational setting
