Fifteen Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences, and the Arts students earned recognition at the FBLA District IV Spring Conference.
The district conference was held at the University of Arkansas at Hope-Texarkana’s Hope campus on Feb. 4. The students participated in competitive events that were either an objective subject test, performance or presentation, or a combination of an objective test and a performance component.
Students who placed in the top six in objective test competitions or top five in a performance or presentation event at the district qualified to compete in the state competition, which will be held April 7-8 at the Statehouse Convention Center in Little Rock.
Students who earned recognition at the District IV competition and are eligible to compete at the state competition include:
- Advertising: Kate Sedgwick of Arkadelphia, second place;
- Business Communication: Khole Keenom of Mt. Judea, fourth place;
- Data Science and AI: Anay Pandit of Little Rock, third place;
- Introduction to Parliamentary Procedure: Yana Pandit of Little Rock, first place;
- Sales Presentation: Miranda Lee of Conway, first place;
- Business Ethics: Team of Lilly Gray of Conway, Bailey Bray of Greenbrier and Dahlia Cortez-Woodard of Plainview, second place;
- Public Service Announcement: Isabel Gagnon of Salem, third place;
- Visual Design: KC Cavin of Mount Vernon, first place;
- Website Design: Team of Sophie Milton of Jonesboro and Lexi Louden of Camden, first place;
- Business Management: Team of Christopher Koscinski of Scotland and Drake Smith of Mayflower, second place; and
- Marketing: Daniel Leslie of Jonesboro, first place.
At the state competition, students will have the opportunity to qualify to compete at FBLA Nationals, which will be held June 29 through July 2 in San Antonio, Texas.
